Why Does No One Live Like They're Going To Die?
(read this if you feel lost in life)
Imagine a clock ticking down, signalling the final moments of your existence.
If you knew you were going to die a year from now? How would you live your life?

What social media platforms would you use, if any?
What would you do for a living, if anything?
How would you want to be remembered?
How would being that close to your own death, change how you live?
Contemplating Life at a young age.
For the past few weeks, I’ve found myself pondering these questions. Distanced from distractions, I confronted the reality that life's fragility defies age. Death isn't morbid; it's the essence that lends profound meaning to our existence.
Understanding the Beauty of Death
Our societal fear of death blinds us to its beauty.

death is beautiful.
Ignoring our mortality leads to a life detached from our true values. If we were closer to the rhythms of nature, like on a farm, we'd witness life cycles, sparking contemplation.
But in our disconnected reality, we live chasing pleasures and avoiding pain, which stifles our perceptions.
Life's True Essence
Our obsession with reaching goals often overshadows life's essence.
However, if you were to step back and see the bigger picture…
You’d see that beginnings and endings are illusions; life is a never-ending circle of events.
The journey, not the destination, defines our existence. Acknowledging death's inevitability infuses gratitude into every step, every meal, and every moment.
Reflecting on Your Own Mortality
Now, without fear, consider:
What if you had only six months to live?
Where would you live?
What would you work on?
and who would you surround yourself with?
What books would read?
These questions invite a deep reflection on every aspect of life.
Here’s some ways I’m changing my life:
Scrolling through a life visualisation tool, I faced the reality of my screen time.
A reevaluation led to 3 pacts:
Pact 1: Crafting Purposeful Content
In the realm of social media, I've sworn a pact to create content that transcends the superficial. While I've dabbled in relatability for views, my focus shifts. I want every encounter with my content to leave you with an expanded worldview. My fascination lies in health, spirituality, creativity, and the human condition, and it's this terrain I navigate to impart meaningful insights. Even in promoting my businesses, the emphasis is on value – because, in the end, value prevails.
Recognizing the malleability of the mind in the morning, I've vowed not to succumb to the allure of TikTok, Instagram, or any digital domain before noon. That sacred time is now dedicated to deep work – writing podcasts, crafting newsletters, reading, and meditating – all aligned with my core values. This commitment ensures that the first hours of my day are invested in activities that truly matter.
Pact 3: Phone Optimization for Mindful Living
Understanding the insidious design of social media apps, meticulously crafted to hijack attention, I've taken back control. The ploy to trap us in an endless dopamine loop doesn't hold power when your phone is in greyscale. This simple yet effective trick strips away the vibrant hues, making interactions less stimulating. No longer fooled by the allure of notifications, I'm reclaiming my attention and steering clear of the addictive grasp of social media.
As I navigate these pacts, the looming threat of social media's impact on a fulfilling life becomes apparent. This realization propels us into the next exploration – a deep dive into optimizing health.
